Farm Animal breeding in europe

Providing Europe and the rest of the world with sustainable animals for the future
Farm animal breeders stand at the beginning of the food chain. They have a direct responsibility to provide responsible and healthy livestock for farmers.

The production of animal products involve many global sustainability issues:
  • animal health and welfare
  • greenhouse gas emissions
  • use of natural resources
  • integrity of  the animal
  • food safety and public health
  • production efficiency.

Breeders are able to positively contribute to these challenges, by including them in their breeding programmes. This is a continuous process of consultation and adoption and improvement with research, development, breeding programme, and multiplication towards the farmers.
