Farm Animal Breeding & reproduction Technology Platform

Farm animal breeding and reproduction stands at the beginning of the animal production chain. Breeding contributes to the basis of robust, efficient and healthy animals with a reduced need for medication and increased animal welfare.

Research and innovation are essential to ensure continuous improvements needed for a sustainable and competitive livestock sector. We work on supporting partnerships between the private sector and knowledge centres to tackle major challenges with sustainable farm animal breeding and reproduction technologies. Read more.

The members of FABRE TP consist out of breeding and reproduction organisations and knowledge institutes. Currently we have 55 members. As many of these organisations are associations, the total number of companies is much larger. The number of participating knowledge institutes is currently 25 but this number is constantly growing. FABRE TP promotes sustainable animal breeding and reproduction in Europe and the rest of the world, sets priorities for research and innovation, connects industry, knowledge institutes and policy and supports innovation.

Breeding is the beginning of the food chain, has a responsibility to provide robust, efficient and healthy animals and contributes to animal health and welfare, food safety, minimising environmental impact, and more.

Research and innovation
Research and innovation contribute to continuous improvements in the sector. Moreover, it is aimed to optimise research to applicable results by increasing exchange of knowledge and technologies and to increase collaboration between knowledge institutes and industry, decreasing the distance between new knowledge and new products.
